The Slender Baskettail (subgenus Tetragoneuria) was until recently called the Stripe-winged Baskettail. The wings are marked with a basal spot of brown, and in some females there may be a brown stripe across the front edge of the wings. It is a medium-sized brown species with yellow side stripes on the slender abdomen. The abdomen is constricted at segment 3, and the appendages are long. It is very similar to our other Tetragoneuria baskettails (Common, Dot-winged and Spiny).
