Type species. Taenia guayanaensis Stebnicka 2003: 356-358, by original designation.
               = Taenia Stebnicka 2003: 355-356 [not Taenia Linnaeus 1758,
               Cestoda].

 
 
 
 
Diagnosis. Body length 2.0-2.1 mm, oblong-oval, reddish-brown. Pronotum distinctly emarginate at posterior angle, emargination bounded by small teeth. Metatibia and tarsi very narrow, elongate.
 
 
 
Distribution. Colombia, French Guiana, Suriname.
 
Composition. Tanyana contains a single species.
