Type species. Selviria matogrossoensis Stebnicka 1999a: 288, by original designation.

Diagnosis. Body length 4.8-5.0 mm, elongate, parallel-sided, reddish, glossy. Head broad. Pronotal surface weakly punctured, laterally explanate; lateral margin with dense fringe of scale-like setae. Elytra with lateral margin shelf-like. Meso- and metatibia slender.
Distribution. Brazil.
Composition. Selviria contains 2 species.

Selviria anneae
Stebnicka 2005: 23-25, Brazil.
Selviria matogrossoensis Stebnicka 1999: 288, Brazil (Mato Grosso do Sul), Bolivia.
Life History. Known specimens probably collected at light. Selviria matogrossoensis has been reported from the nest of a fire ant, Solenopsis invicta Buren (Stebnicka 2007).
