Type species. Passaliolla depressa Balthasar 1945: 105, by monotypy (= Saprosites cancellatus Bates 1887: 92).

Diagnosis. Body length 2.8-4.0 mm, elongate, parallel-sided, distinctly flattened, dark reddish-brown, glossy. Head broad. Clypeus granulate, margin lacking teeth. Meso- and metatibia with 3 accessory spines at apex. Abdominal sternites 3-5 flattened, sutures obliterated medially.
Distribution. Mexico to South America.
Composition. Passaliolla contains 5 species.
