Life History. Members of Martineziana are primarily associated with fire ants (Solenopsis spp.) (Stebnicka 2007). Other specimens have been colleced with the Argentine ant, Iridomyrmex humilis (Mayr) (Stebnicka), and  are occasionally collected at light. Some work has been done on M. dutertrei in the southeastern United States (as M. excavaticollis in Wojcik et al. 1977a, 1977b, 1978).
