Type species. Euparia bruchi Schmidt 1922: 101, by original designation.

 
 

Diagnosis. Body length 4-5 mm, elongate-oval, robust, dark reddish brown, surface dull and setose. Head surface smooth or granulate. Clypeus with tooth each side of median emargination. Pronotum rounded at base. Elytral intervals weakly convex to weakly carinate.

 
 
 
 
Distribution. Argentina.
 

Composition. Bruchaphodius contains 3 species.

Bruchaphodius ovalipennis (Harold 1871: 116) [Euparia], Argentina.
Bruchaphodius shannoni (Bruch 1938: 160) [Euparia], Argentina.

 
 
 
 
 
Life History. Bruchaphodius shannoni and B. bruchi have been collected in burrows of tuco-tucos ( Rodentia: Ctenomyidae: Ctenomys spp.) Ctenomyidae), while B. ovalipennis has been found with the ant Acromyrmex sp. (Martinez 1952). Generally uncommon in collections, these records need substantiation.
