Type species. Euparia tuberculata Bates 1887: 94, by original designation.

Diagnosis. Body length 5.5-6.5 mm, oval, somewhat robust, black. Head broad. Pronotum distinctly transverse, much wider than elytral base; sides rectangularly explanate. Elytra rounded; intervals tuberculate. Mesosternum lacking fossa. Meso- and metatarsomere 1 both distinctly longer than long tibial spur, flattened with dense setae on ventral surface. |

Composition. Batesiana contains a single species.

Life History. Specimens have been collected a light, in leaf litter, and associated with ‘termites’ (Stebnicka 2007). |
