Takehiko Nakane


 

 

  

Takehiko Nakane worked in Kyoto Prefecture University from 1951 to 1964 and in the National Science Museum (Natural History), Tokyo from 1965 to 1978. He became a Professor of Kagoshima University in 1978 and retired in 1986. He authored or co-authored about 870 publications.  He worked on all the taxa of Coleoptera from Japan, including Scarabaeoidea.  He was one of the principal authors of the Iconographia Insectorum Japanicorum Colore Naturali Edita (volume 2, Coleoptera). Takehiko Nakane died on 26 March 1999.
