Sandy Garcia-Atencia is a M.Sc. student at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. She is interested in studying ecological aspects of scarab beetle communities in the Colombian Caribbean region. For her M.Sc., she is working on the temporal and spatial variation of Scarabaeidae in a tropical dry forest fragment and a traditional polyculture of corn, sorghum, yuca, watermelon, and aji. In another project with Colciencias, she is working on building an inventory of Melolonthinae, Rutelinae, Dynastinae, and Cetoniinae that occur in the department of Atlantico, Colombia. |
