Ron
McPeak maintains a large collection of Scarabaeoid beetles and
has a broad interest in mostly Nearctic scarabs. His primary
research interests are the systematics and ecology of Nearctic
scarabaeoid beetles, especially scarabs of southern California,
USA, and Baja California, Mexico. His current research projects
include
a study of the biology and taxonomy of San Diego County, California
scarabaeoid beetles, a study of the systematics and natural
history of Scarabaeoid beetles in Baja California, Mexico, natural
history and description of Trox gemmulatus Horn larvae,
a survey of the Scarabaeoid beetles inhabiting Juniper Dunes
Wilderness Area in southeastern Washington, USA, and an evaluation
of host plant data for Scarabaeoid beetles. He is an Entomology
Departmental Associate at the San Diego Natural History Museum.
