Ramón Gutiérrez.

Gutiérrez, during his all-too-short life, became an expert on the scarab fauna of Chile.  He was a passionate collector in many parts of Chile, although he never ventured outside of the country.  He accumulated 60 drawers with about 20,000 specimens from Chile and most other parts of the world (by exchange) in a very short period of time.  He published numerous papers wherein he described new genera and species.  In spite of being independent and always working alone, he was generous with his knowledge and specimens. He died of heart failure at the age of 35.
