Patrick Urban

Patrick Urban studied Evolutionary Biology at Georg-August-Universität Göttingen and Biology (with a focus on Ecology) at Universität Bielefeld in Germany. His research interests cover biology, ecology, and phylogeography of (mostly Palaearctic) coprophagous Scarabaeoidea, mainly Onthophagini, Aphodiinae and Geotrupidae, as well as necrophagous beetles like Trogidae.

He is guest scientist at Universität Bielefeld and also works at the biological education institute Biologiezentrum Bustedt (Germany). Patrick is member of the board of the Entomological Society of North-Rhine Westphalia (AG Westfälischer Entomologen) and coordinates and runs conservation projects for coprophagous and saproxylic beetles.
