Matthew Moore is pursuing a PhD in Entomology at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. He completed a B.S. in Insect Science and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2008. For his M.S., work he studied under the supervision of Dr. Mary Liz Jameson at Wichita State University in Kansas. At WSU he conducted research on cryptic Cyclocephala species, the phylogeny of Mimeoma species, and the phylogeny and nomenclature of Rutelini. His PhD research, under the supervision of Dr. Ron Cave and Dr. Marc Branham, aims to elucidate patterns of secondary-sexual characteristic evolution in cyclocephaline scarabs.
