Luis Figueroa is a researcher at the Natural History Museum at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos in Lima, Peru. He is interested in Scarabaeidae systematics with an emphasis on Scarabaeinae. His undergradate thesis was the Phanaeini of Peru, and his M.Sc. thesis (ongoing) is the distribution of the more common species of Scarabaeinae of Peru. He is currently working with the museum collections that now have more than 20,000 specimens of Scarabaeoidea.
