Henry Reinhard was a long-serving professor at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX. Reinhard's principal work was with economically important insects and Diptera, and he described 94 new genera and 529 new species of Tachinidae and Scarcophagidae. He began studies on the Phyllophaga (Melolonthinae) of Texas in the 1930s. He established some detailed life histories for several species, and in 1950 he published a paper on the taxonomy of the Phyllophaga of Texas. He described 16 new species of Phyllophaga.
