Gaston Ruter

Gaston Ruter, one of France's most notable amateur coleopterists, was widely known for his work with cetoniine scarabs, and he amassed a very large collection of cetoniines. His collection is now at the Museum National d'Histoire Naturelle in Paris. Ruter's earliest papers dealt with weevils of France and north Africa. He published 67 papers about beetles between 1934 and 1979, and 48 of those concerned Cetoniinae.
