Davide Scaccini is a PhD student in Crop Science at the University of Padua (Italy). In 2016, he obtained a Master’s Degree in Agricultural Sciences from the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Piacenza where he studied Agricultural Entomology. He collaborated with the Museo di Storia Naturale in Piacenza dealing with communicating science to the public.

He is interested in entomology with particular focus on Lucanidae and even more particularly (but not exclusively) on the genus Platycerus. He is involved on distribution, biology, ecology, behaviour, and larval morphology of Platycerus. He is also interested on astacology (study of crayfish), ecology, morphometry, and in some branches of terrestrial slug studies.
