Dana is an Assistant Professor at Salisbury University in Maryland, USA. She completed her Ph.D. work with Phanaeus dung beetles at Rutgers University in the Graduate Program of Ecology and Evolution. She then worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the American Museum of Natural History with Lorenzo Prendini and Ward Wheeler.
Her current research involves an examination of the local dung communities of short leaf pine forests on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, and has future plans to examine the islands of Assateague and Chincoteague. In addition, she continues to work on the systematics of Phanaeini and the relationships among the genera. Her interests include systematics, behavior, ecology and conservation biology of dung beetles.
