Disclaimer: the nomenclature and classification used in this checklist are based on what has been published in the scientific literature. It should be noted that this includes numerous errors, omissions, misclassifications, and misidentifications that have not yet been rectified. Additionally, there are a number of new taxa I am aware of that have not yet been published. Corrections will be made to this checklist as taxonomic revisions and reviews are published. In the mean time, users of the information provided in this checklist need to be cautious!

 

This checklist is a work in progress. A very small percentage of the entries and refences have not yet been verified using the original literature.

 

Southern South America consists of the IV-XII Regions of Chile and the following provinces in Argentina: Neuquén, Río Negro, Chubut, Santa Cruz, and Tierra del Fuego.
