Distribution: Mexico, Central America.

Biological Data: Found in montane rain forest between 100-1600m. Not frequently attracted to lights. Larvae live in rotten logs of Platanus lindendiana, Liquidambar styraciflua, and Brosimum alicastrum and may have a 2 year cycle. Larvae found in combination with Macraspis rufonitida and Chrysina macropus. Larvae emerge from April to May.

 
 
 
 
 

Temporal Distribution: March-December.

 

Larvae: M. crassipes and M. nietii described by Morón 1983:78.

 

Composition: 3 species, 1 subspecies.
