Diagnosis: Males with elytra and pronotum pilose; female with elytra and pronotum glabrous. Males with anterior tibiae straight. Anterior margins of clypeus with acute, spiniform teeth separated by three tooth widths or more. Pronotum with median, anteriorly directed horn. Distance between apices of anterior angles (horns) of pronotum less than 1 1⁄2 width of head. Females with pronotum punctate. Frontoclypeal suture with tubercle on distinctly convex, raised surface.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Biological Data: Adults are found at elevations between 100 and 400 m. Males and females are attracted to lights but can also be found on the branches of mesquite (Prosopis juliflora Swartz, Mimosaceae) (Cartwright 1963, 1970; Hardy 1972).
 
 
 
 
Temporal Distribution: July-October (Ratcliffe 2005).
 

Larvae: Ratcliffe and Morón (2005) described the third instar larvae.
