Diagnosis:
Males with
short recumbent setae on elytra and pronotum; females with short, recumbent
setae on elytra. Males with anterior tibiae arcuate. Anterior angles
of pronotum produced into antero-laterally projecting horns. Apices
of anterior angles (horns) of pronotum curving inward. Females with
pronotum rugose. Scutellum at base rugose. Pronoutm with longitudinal,
posteromedian carina.

Biological
Data: Megasoma
nogueirai is found in tropical deciduous and subdeciduous forests
at elevations between 290 and 820 meters. Adults are attracted to fluorescent
lights at night (Morón 2005).
