Biological
Data: Studies on the biology of Dynastes maya have
yet to be undertaken. However, D. maya is morphologically similar
to D. hercules and D. hyllus. This led Hardy (2003)
to hypothesize that D. maya may be a transitional form between
the species living in drier, northern environments (D. tityus, D.
granti, D. hyllus) and the southern tropical species living in
moist environments (D. hercules, D. neptunus, D. satanus).
