Biological
Data: Dynastes hyllus larvae have been found in association
with avocado trunks (Persea americana Mill., Lauraceae) (Morón
1987). In captivity, D. hyllus seems to have two distinct
life cycle options. Morón (1987) found D. hyllus have a short
life cycle of approximately 675 days or a long life cycle of approximately
1109 days independent of humidity, temperature, and food availability.

Temporal
Distribution: August-October, at lights during the night (Morón
1987).

Larvae:
Morón (1987) described the third instar larvae.
