Type species. Termitaxis holmgreni Krikken 1970: 472, by monotypy.
|

Diagnosis. Body length 2 mm, oval, flattened, brown, opaque due to close micropunctation. Head broad, able to deflect at nearly 90o to pronotum; eyes absent. Pronotum with central grouping of tuberlces and intervening grooves. Elytra short, fused; each with intervals 1-3 distinct and ridged. Prosternum projecting and hastate behind procoxa. Legs flattened. Meso- and metatibia lacking apical spurs. |

Life History. The only known specimen of Termitaxis was collected with termites, Rhinotermes taurus Desn. (Krikken 1970). |
