Type species. Diastictus carinatus Paulian 1954: 64, by original designation.

Diagnosis. Body length 1.6-2.2 mm, elongate, parallel-sided, dark reddish-brown to black, dorsal surfaces glabrous. Head surface granulate. Clypeus rounded each side of median emargination. Pronotum with 2 transverse grooves (3 ridges), one median longitudinal basal groove. Elytral base margined, intervals strongly convex to carinulate. Metafemur elongate. Metatibia gradually widening to apex. Metatarsi elongate. |

Composition. Worldwide, Afrodiastictus contains 7 species, 2 of which occur in the New World.
