Type species. Aphodius coloradensis Horn 1870: 130, by subsequent designation.

Diagnosis. Body length 5.0-7.8 mm, elongate, somewhat robust, black with black or yellowish venter, rarely with speckled elytra. Head smooth, lacking frontal tubercles. Clypeus acute or weakly angulate each side of middle, not toothed; clypeus moderately to distinctly fimbriate along margin. Pronotal base bordered. Metatibial apical spinules long, alternately unequal.
Distribution. Canada, United States, Mexico.
Composition. Pseudagolius contains 4 species.
