Life History. All known species are primary pocket gopher dung feeders. Although usually rare in collections, several techniques (trapping, excavation, rearing, etc.) have proven useful in sampling pocket gopher burrows for these beetles (Gordon and Skelley 2007).

Larvae. Unknown.

Status of Classification. Gordon and Skelley (2007) recognized 6, more or less, distinct species groups based on external and genitalic morphology.
