Stéphane Le Tirant

Stéphane Le Tirant is the curator and collections manager for the Montreal Insectarium in Canada. Over the last 20 years he has negotiated the donations of over 25 collections for the Insectarium, including an incredible birdwing butterfly collection. He is an expert in insect exhibitry and display of preserved and live insect collections. He has created several butterfly houses and insectariums all over the world. He was the scientific consultant for the Audubon Insectarium in New Orleans as well as other insectaria in Newfoundland, Hong-Kong, and China and also for the TV series INSECTIA as seen on the National Geographic and Discovery Channels. Stephane’s collection contains about 20,000 Scarabaeoidea, mainly Dynastinae (950 species, 75 paratypes), Rutelinae, Euchirinae, and Lucanidae. He is a collaborator with Team scarab at the University of Nebraska.
