Otto Frederik Müller 1730-1784

Otto Müller

Müller was a Danish naturalist, and he described scarab taxa in Fauna Insectorum Fridrichsdalina sive Methodica Descriptio Insectorum agri Fridrichsdalensis… (1764). He was born poor but married rich. He went to the university as a boy of 11, became a skilled entomologist, botanist, marine biologist, pioneer protozoan specialist, and also a poet. His collection may be in København. He should not be confused with the other scarab worker, the German Müller who described African aphodiines.)
