I am interested on diversity, evolutionary biology, and conservation of Scarabaeidae. My current scarab research includes dung beetle eco-physiology and behavior, particularly of those from the arid lands of South America. I have particular interest and focus on Eucraniini, a tribe endemic to Argentina. I work in collaboration with other scarab workers and colleagues on thermal tolerance and behavioral and ecological adaptations to desert conditions of this peculiar group of dung beetles. I also have interest on diversity and evolution of scarabs of the dry lands of southern South America. The goal is to complete the revision and phylogenetic analysis of Allidiostomatinae,  Aclopinae, and the South American genera of Tanyproctini. Also I love to study the Hybosoridae and am working on the systematics and evolution of this group in collaboration with various colleagues in order to complete the revision of the New World genera of Hybosorinae and Anaidinae. I am also interested in insect photography.
