David Sommer (b. 1994) studied Biology at CharlesUniversity in Prague and also Forestry at the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague (BSc.), The Czech Republic. Now he is studying Entomology (MSc.) at Charles University and works with David Král on biology, zoogeography, taxonomy and phylogeny of the family Geotrupidae (incl. Bolboceratinae). He is also studying Conservation Biology at the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague (MSc.) where he works with Jan Růžička on on biology, zoogeography, taxonomy and phylogeny of the family Silphidae. David Sommer's research interests are predominantly taxonomy and phylogeny of Scarabaeoidea and Staphylinoidea groups. He is the secretary of the Czech Entomological Society.
