Distribution: Mexico, Central America.

 

Revision or Synopsis: Morón, M. A. 1983. A revision of the subtribe Heterosternina (Coleoptera, Melolonthidae, Rutelinae). Fol. Ent. Mexicana 55:31-101.

 
 
 

Biological Data: Adults attracted to lights. Host plant records: Persea americana ( aguacatillo ), Apeiba tibourbou ( peine de monos ). Found in montane rain forests between elevations of 800-2500m. Larvae found in rotten logs (of Brosimum sp.?). Life cycle may be two years.

 
 
 
 

Temporal Distribution: June, July, August, September.

 

Larvae: H. buprestoides described. See Moron 1983:77.
