Type species. Acanthaphodius bruchi Schmidt 1909: 67, by monotypy.

 

Diagnosis. Body length 3.0-4.0 mm, elongte, somewhat flattened, black with pale markings on elytra. Apical most protibial tooth near tarsal insertion, projecting forward. Male metafemur with prominent finger-like process on posterior margin.
